One of the questions we get from Canadians and people internationally is "How much does it cost to ship to Ontario?". The first answer, of course, is where in Ontario are you shipping - and where are we picking up? At a minimum we need the following information to process a quote:
Once we know the basic information we can rate the shipment as either a parcel or LTL (less than truckload) shipment. If the shipment is crossing the border as "LTL" the importer wwe will require the services of a customs broker to manage the clearance and duties if applicable.
If the shipment is a parcel(s) moving via courier cross-border the customs will be handled while the shipment is in transit and any applicable taxes or duties will be charged accordingly.
Most of the shipments arriving into or leaving the province travel through the southern part of the province and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), however shipments that move as far north as Thunder Bay can take considerably longer due the the lack of regular shipments into and out of the area.
